Urban Poling Introduces the CoreGrip – Featuring Improved Ergonomics and Comfort
[Vancouver, B.C. – June 7, 2016]—Urban Poling Inc., a national manufacturer and distributor of Nordic walking poles and accessories, announces the launch of its new CoreGrip (patent pending) handles. The CoreGrip’s new features have raised the bar when it comes to comfort, safety and style.
The design and testing of the CoreGrip handles took over 12 months, with input from top Canadian physiotherapists and fitness experts. The wait was well worth it, says Mandy Shintani, Urban Poling’s co-founder and managing director. “The feedback we’ve received from our test group has been outstanding.”
“Love them!” says Thunder Bay-based Louise Hickey, who is one of the company’s 3,500 Urban Poling-certified instructors and an Urban Poling master trainer. “They’re extremely comfortable, and my wrists feel really supported.”
According to a report conducted by ergonomist Anne-Kristina Arnold, “The CoreGrip design has significant ergonomic improvements.”
“We’ve been extremely happy with our original handles, but we’re always looking for ways to refine our products and improve the Urban Poling exercise experience for our customers,” says Shintani.
- Base of the handle (the Ledge) has been extended for added comfort and to increase the base of support for core strengthening and weight bearing
- Top of the handle (the Palm) is now rounded to provide a comfortable alternate grip position for hill climbing and descending, to reduce grip fatigue during long distance walking and trekking, and for stationary exercising
- Wider grip now accommodates both small and large hands
